Academy Goal
The Mechanical and civil Engineering program at TERRA delivers an educational program of study that prepares its graduates to become intellectual leaders in industry, government, and academia. Graduates of our programs are grounded in scientific, mathematical, and technical knowledge through coursework that keeps pace with current relevant technologies; they have developed the ability to analyze, synthesize, and design engineering systems through their immersion in the hands-on projects-based activities of this research High school.Academy Curriculum
9th Grade
Introduction to Engineering & Robotics Technology:A hands-on approach to mechanical engineering using state of the arts engineering software with a project base approach, identify, formulate, and solve engineering problems.
10th Grade
Advanced Mechanical Engineering & Robotics: The Mechanical Engineering curriculum at TERRA includes a foundation in advanced mechanical engineering applications and a hands-on approach in conjunction with the Motorola Engineers Mentorship program. This course includes but not limited to: The construction on an advance robotics systems , the constructions of a solar car, and the development of an autonomous robot using c-programming. Advanced engineering software includes: Solid works, Master cam, and Rhino3D.
11th Grade
Advanced Civil and Environmental Engineering: This curriculum is designed to equip students to face the challenge of modern engineering practice. The major emphasizes applications-based engineering studies involving the planning, analysis, and design of civil engineering/surveying projects. Modern approaches to the planning, analysis, and design of highways, structures, hydraulic systems, and site development are emphasized. This technical instruction with modern instrumentation, hardware, and software is reinforced with foundation courses emphasizing written and oral communication, and physical sciences. All of the instruction is presented with problem-solving in mind and strong emphasis on applications and critical thinking.
12th Grade
Advance application in Engineering: A research-based course in advanced engineering.
